26th Sep – Bal Brunch
Hosted by Geoff and Mim, the monthly free Bal Brunch returns to Holy Hobo from 1:30 pm–4:45 pm (Please note the new time). Come along for a relaxed afternoon of dancing, a bring-and-share table, and a bring-and-buy vintage rail. It’s a friendly and welcoming event, especially for newer dancers! This month, there’ll also be a Slow Bal taster from 2:00–2:30 pm with Sarah and Graeme.
1st Oct – Hot Club de Heaton, Live at The Black Swan Bar
Join the finest musicians from Newcastle’s gypsy jazz scene! Performance starts at 7:30pm — free entry, with plenty of space to dance!
3rd Oct – Swing Band Dancing Night at Arts Centre Washington
The evening kicks off with a short Swing Dance Taster led by Joo-Lee & Andy from Lindy Jazz, followed by live music from the fantastic Bright Street Big Band and Swing DJ Andy Lewis. Whether you’re an experienced swing dancer, a beginner looking to learn a few moves, or simply here to enjoy the music, everyone is welcome!
29-31st Jan 2027 – Balboa weekender workshop

This weekend features two pairs of Italian teachers — Carolin & Iacopo, based in London, and Alberto & Elena, travelling all the way from Italy! Expect 6 hours of lessons, 3 streams, and 2 social dances with live bands.
