Summer Classes

7:30pm every Monday, Summerhill Pavilion & Gardens

Over the summer we have some unique one off classes such as Tap and Blues alongside our 3 core dances. There will be no dancing at St. Matthew’s until 1st September

– 21 July: Improvers and beginners balboa at Summerhill

– 28 July: Improvers and beginners lindy hop at St Matthew’s

– 4 August: Improvers and beginners shag at Summerhill

– 11 August: Tap dancing at Summerhill

– 18 August: Improvers and beginners lindy hop at Summerhill

– 25 August: Blues dancing at Summerhill

– 1 September: Blues dancing at Summerhill and balboa at St Matthew’s

Improvers Class: 19:30-20:10

Beginners Class: 20:20-21:00

Collegiate Shag

7:30pm every other Monday, returning 8th September, St. Matthew’s Church

Fortnightly classes for this fast and joyful style of swing dance

Danced across America in the 30s and 40s this is a fast and often wild dance performed in a unique hold

Balboa

7:30pm every other Monday, returning 1st September, St. Matthew’s Church

Fortnightly classes for this smooth and sophisticated style of swing dance

Starting out in Southern California in the 1920s Balboa has a smooth style and a close hold.

Our Beginners Class is designed around people who are new to Swing Dancing or are wanting to review the essentials.

Our Improvers classes are suitable for anyone but will delve into more specific topics with a new theme each week over the summer. Examples include dips, musicality and solo routines!

Social Dancing

Everyone is welcome to our social dance time. It’s a great opportunity to socialize, practice some moves and get comfortable on the social dance floor. This is where the dance really comes alive!
