The class schedule will be as usual, with lindy hop in Summerhill and balboa in St Matthew’s church hall. Social dancing starts at 9 – don’t miss out!
We are thrilled to announce our March balboa workshop!
Join us on the 16th of March for 5 hours of balboa lessons for beginners, improvers and those who want to learn how to switch. The workshops will be taught by our local teachers.
This is a fantastic opportunity to hone your skills and develop your dancing, all for the bargain price of £15.

Our last class and live music social dance on the 16th was a roaring success – lovely dances, smiles, and delicious treats all around, and a marvellous performance by Magpies of Swing!
With your support, we managed to raise £235.06 for Crisis. From the Swing Tyne committee to you, our wonderful community, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for your generosity and continued support.
We had a great year of swing in 2024 – here is to another in 2025! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year, friends – see you all in January 
Ho-ho-hop and Merry Shagmas! Put on your best festive attire and bring out your favourite cakes for the sharing table. Tomorrow, we will be sending off the year with our usual improvers and beginners schedule in lindy hop and collegiate shag, and finish the night social dancing to the wonderful Magpies of Swing. Best of all, we are making this a “pay as you feel” entry, and all of the proceeds from the evening will go to Crisis Homelessness Charity.
This is sure to be a fantastic Swing Tyne Monday filled with Christmas joy and lovely music. See you all on the dancefloor!
As Christmas approaches, join us for some of the last Swing Tyne classes of the year. We will be in Summerhill Bowling Club for improvers lindy hop at 7:30PM and beginners at 8:20PM; in St Matthew’s Church hall, we will have beginners balboa at 7:30PM and improvers at 8:20PM.
On the 16th, we will have the final session before breaking off for Winter holidays. In the spirit of giving this festive season, we will follow our annual tradition to donate all proceeds from the last week to Crisis Homelessness Charity. To make this easier, next Monday’s classes and social will be “pay as you feel”. We invite you to come along to connect with friends, have a dance, and contribute to the good cause. There will be a sharing table with cakes and bakes, so bring on your best mince pies and let’s have a boogie!
